The Challenges

As a global corporation, Dentsply Sirona finds diversity to be a key contributor to its success. In June 2020, following the rise of racial and social unrest in the United States, the leadership team of Dentsply Sirona began their #StandTogether campaign, committing to creating a positive work environment—one where employees of all backgrounds could feel connected, valued, accepted, and represented. 

The initial challenge was obtaining the data needed to build a targetable and sustainable DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) strategy that would cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful environment. While Dentsply Sirona had basic demographic data such as location, gender, and race/ethnicity, it needed to identify more complex trends driving representation gaps in key segments.   

Furthermore, the company needed a centralized employee feedback strategy that would help with obtaining critical insights and identifying the trends’ root causes.  

To create a strong business case for change and build a sustainable DE&I strategy, Dentsply Sirona needed not just to identify the “what” but also the “why” and the “how.”  

The Solution

Dentsply Sirona partnered with Quantum Workplace in 2021 to build a more comprehensive employee listening strategy. Their goal was to equip leaders with reliable employee engagement solutions to empower diversity, equity and inclusion in their working environments.  

Dentsply Sirona leveraged Quantum Workplace’s surveys, feedback, and talent reviews to give employees a platform to share their unique experiences. Using these tools, they were able to: 

  • Identify targeted opportunities to improve the employee experience 
  • Increase internal development opportunities 
  • Facilitate networking and connection across the company’s global workforce 

With Quantum Workplace, Dentsply Sirona also monitored progress in building leadership diversity, increasing cultural awareness, and improving employee engagement and connectivity. Furthermore, Dentsply Sirona regularly reviews and acts on employee feedback by segment, ensuring all employees have a positive and engaging work experience aligned with the company’s values. 

In 2021, Dentsply Sirona conducted its first all-employee Pulse Survey focusing on the company's vision, mission, and values. They received impressive results from this survey.

With Quantum Workplace’s engagement tools directing leaders, Dentsply Sirona continues to progress towards creating a work environment where people of all backgrounds genuinely feel they are respected and belong.  

The company is building action plans targeted at strengthening diversity within the organization and in tandem with their core values. In doing so, their employee engagement score is expected to continue growing. 

To create an inclusive workspace for diverse employees, Dentsply Sirona uses Quantum Workplace’s Surveys, Employee Feedback, and Talent Reviews features to: 

  • Engage employees and leverage collected feedback to drive organizational goals 
  • Build and implement targeted action plans
  • Monitor progress towards objectives and recognize areas of improvement
