About the Process
Step 1: Sign Up
Nominate your company. Only one nomination per company is necessary. The deadline to nominate a company is March 5th.
Step 2: Complete a company questionnaire
On March 8th, you will receive an e-mail from Quantum Workplace containing a link to the Best Places To Work website. You will be asked the following basic details about your organization:
  • Contact Information (for the primary coordinator and backup HR executive)
  • Full-time employee count within the contest area
  • Total full-time employee count (including beyond the contest area)
  • Optional: general performance trends (sales, profits, turnover, etc.)
Upon completing the company questionnaire, you will be given your company’s organization code, participation goal and survey website address.
Step 3: Consider survey customizations
BPTW participants who would benefit from customizing their employee survey can do so for a fee. Customizations include:
  • adding questions unique to your company or industry
  • adding custom demographics to enhance your data-analysis capabilities (e.g. slicing by department or location)
  • surveying employees outside your contest area

Step 4: Take the survey
Once you have your company’s Organization Code, distribute it to your employees along with the survey link so that they can complete the survey online. The survey contains approximately 40 likert-scale questions and three open-ended questions, and takes just 7-10 minutes to complete. The deadline for employees to complete the survey is April 2nd. NOTE: If your employees do not have internet access, please contact Corey Farley at corey@quantumworkplace.com for paper survey information.
After the survey closes:
  • Quantum processes the data and provides the sponsoring organization with the scores of all participating companies. The sponsoring organization then names finalists in each size-category.
  • Your company’s score will be compared to all companies in your size-category and region.
  • All questions on the survey are evenly weighted using a 6-point likert-scale. The open-ended questions are not scored.
  • NNHRA will contact you approximately 5 business days from the survey close date to inform you of your status as a finalist or non-finalist
  • Non-finalists will receive an e-mail from Quantum that links you to a free overview of your results. In addition Quantum offers several advanced reporting options available for purchase. Finalists will receive access to their reports after the event.
  • Finalists will be honored at the April 22nd Best Places to Work event.
Step 5: Consider advanced reporting options
The BPTW contest presents an excellent opportunity to learn what your employees are really thinking, and provides you with valuable information you can use to improve your day-to-day operations and workplace environment.
