Quantum Workplace releases a research report summarizing data collected through LeaderGrade, its leadership-360 tool.

Quantum Workplace released a 2012 leadership research study revealing the public perceptions of men’s and women’s leadership skills. It’s been well established that significant employment and income gaps exist between men and women leaders, yet a connection has not been drawn between these gaps and each group’s leadership abilities. After collecting data on about 1,500 leaders through LeaderGrade, Quantum Workplace wanted see what its data revealed about the subject.

Questioning previous assumptions about women in leadership, the report reveals interesting opinions of men and women in leadership roles. Findings from the report include:

  • Men and women are equally equipped to lead.
  • Women are more likely to monitor team progress and terminate poor performers in a timely manner.
  • Men are more likely to consider how various scenarios will impact the future and are thought to be more knowledgeable about their industry and competitors.
  • Women are less likely to seek feedback.

“Quantum Workplace’s annual research shows that trust in leaders has the largest impact on overall levels of engagement,” says Greg Harris, President of Quantum Workplace. “Our 2012 leadership study researched this even further and found very little differences in trust between men and women’s leadership capabilities, which supports what we inherently believed to be true: Men and women are equals in the leadership game.”

In addition, Quantum Workplace found that men and women share four of the top five leadership strengths and share only three out of the top five leadership weaknesses. To see full details of the report, visit quantumworkplace.com/womenandleadership
